\nwhat defines an emergency. So knowing what to do when you\u2019re in the middle of
\none is very important. In today\u2019s post, we want to go through some of the most
\ncommon dental emergencies and offer tips on what to do in each case. If you don\u2019t

\nKnocked Out Tooth<\/b><\/div>\n

\nIf you suddenly lose a tooth because of an accident, injury,
\nor some other cause, call
\nus immediately<\/a>. Reattachment is possible if we can see you soon enough.
\nUntil Dr. Santos<\/a>
\nor Dr. Folck<\/a>
\ncan see you, gently rinse the tooth and put it back in its socket. If you’re
\nunable to do that, store it in a baggie of milk.<\/div>\n

\nBroken Tooth<\/b><\/div>\n

\nAs with a knocked out tooth, breaking a tooth is also a
\njarring experience. If you have a broken or cracked a tooth, call us for an
\nappointment<\/a>. And in the meantime, rinse the area with warm water and apply
\na cold compress to the area to treat pain and swelling.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nDamaged Crown<\/b><\/div>\n
\n
<\/b><\/div>\n
\nCrowns can also become damaged, especially temporary crowns.

\nfrom the area. If flossing does not help and your toothache continues, call us for an
\nappointment<\/a>. Avoid putting aspirin on your tooth as this can damage your
\nsensitive gum tissue.<\/div>\n

\nSomething Caught

\nAs with the last emergency, try flossing before you give us a call<\/a>. Avoid
\nusing sharp instruments to help you.<\/div>\n

\nCut\/Bitten Tongue or

\nBleeding from your tongue or lip is a more serious emergency
\nthat may require a trip to your local emergency room. Clean the area and hold a
\ncold compress to it for a while to stop the bleeding. If your bleeding does not
\nstop, visit your area ER.<\/div>\n

\nPossible Broken Jaw<\/b><\/div>\n
\n
<\/b><\/div>\n
\nAs with a bleeding tongue or lip, you should see your local
\nemergency room for help with a broken jaw.<\/div>\n
